Wow, can you believe that we are halfway before coming back to the States for fundraising!? We've been settled into Kathmandu for a while and now that we have started to feel more comfortable with travel, we've left the capital to travel a bit more:

Week 6: Birthday trip to Chitwan to bathe/ride elephants for 2 days! (5 hour microbus ride)
Week 7: Staff retreat overnight to Nagarkot (2.5 hours van ride)
Week7-8 (and possibly to week 9): Work trip to Pokhara with investigations staff (7 hours bus/flight home)

We're currently in Pokhara, which is at the foothills of the Himalayan Range (where most trekkers launch).

It's been really great to be here --it's the best place we've been in Nepal so far! We feel very balanced here -- like with work, fun, and relaxation.

It's possible we may stay for another week (into week 9) because the investigators are still all here working on their case. They had an important meeting yesterday with the police and are hoping to continue the process of their info collecting. Now they also have to build relations to persuade the girls to go into the police station to make a statement.

It's difficult work and I'm constantly concerned for their mental and spiritual health in this work. Here's a recent post from our {{Live Simply & Travel}} blog: http://knotjust10.blogspot.com/2012/09/travelling-within-nepal-chitwan.html
